  • She's Gone

Well, almost.  I won't miss her.

Not a whole lot of governing has happened since the whole VP pick occurred.  That needs to change.  I wish I had confidence in the Lieutenant Governor, but I can't say that I do.  He's been mostly MIA for the last few months too.

They weren't my choice for the governing team during that election in 2006.  Now I can say I Was Right!!

So tired of politics.  We need leadership, not personalities.

  • A Day in the Life

Soccer camp started fairly early (9 AM), but skating started earlier!  Beezer and I left home at 5:45 (in bright sunlight, of course), so she could have a skating lesson at 6:30 AM.

I had planned to stay in the car and nap while the skating was in progress (I’m a hands off kind of skating mom…have I mentioned that?), and essentially had rolled right out of bed into the vehicle for the drive.  So, naturally, this was the day that the battery died at the rink.  Argh!

Luckily, TheCDR was at work, and work was close to the rink.  Unluckily, neither of us had jumper cables.  Also unluckily, Beezer’s soccer camp was quite distant.  But, I was able to seize TheCDR’s car, drop him back at work and get the Beeze to camp on time.  Next stop was home, to get the jumper cables and a quick shower.  Back to the Big City, picked up TheCDR once again (now out of uniform and in “jumping” attire), onward to the rink (whew)…long story short, the vehicle was restarted.

I returned to our ‘burb, and Midas had a new battery installed within twenty minutes.  I love that place.  We have an excellent team at our Midas; I never feel ripped off there.

So, good to go on the vehicle.  Well, sort of.  Oddly enough, I already had an appointment at Midas for Saturday to have what I know will be at least $600 worth of work completed.  And TheCDR has an appointment for the Saturn on Monday; it’s been sputtering, and I suspect will require a few of TheCDR’s hard earned dollars as well.  Probably with some bonus charges, now that GM is selling off the brand.  We’ve been having that kind of year!  Have I mentioned that this upcoming dentist appointment will undoubtedly include an orthodontist referral for Beezer, who has lost the last of the necessary teeth?

    Anyway…

All completed in time to pick up Beezer from soccer camp, and get her and Evie out to the rink again for more skating.  Then Chinese for Beezer.  Almost a two hour lesson!  The instructor loves working with her, and the feeling is mutual.

Finally, gymnastics for Weela.  Not really “finally”…there was still yardwork and dinner and more laundry.  Oh, the laundry.

The WEATHER was gorgeous.  Sunny, and we hit 70 again.  We’ve had the most amazing spring.  We hit 70 twice all of last summer, but have already seen it several times this spring.  Look at our lush growth of dandelions!

Seriously, you haven't seen dandelions until you've seen Alaskan dandelions in the spring.  They can hit a couple of feet high.  They're not native plants and have nothing here that really eats them, so the situation is quite out of control.

Saw a black bear today, right by the bike trail.  Glad we were not on bikes.  Also saw three bald eagles circling overhead and calling while we were in the Costco parking lot.

    Ramble, ramble, ramble…

  • Windows Live Writer

I know I've complained a few times here about the difficulty posting photos over at Blogger, where I keep the "Grandparents Blog"...and I know there were a couple of other people here with similar issues.  Well, I found my solution.  The Windows Live Writer solved my problem.  I recommend it highly.
